Christchurch Accommodation and Hotels

Christchurch Hotel

Whether you want to hit the ski slopes, relax in a thermal spa or experience local Maori culture, we have great rates on Christchurch accommodation, to allow you to enjoy all the city has to offer.

Our Christchurch hotels are the perfect base to explore the ten ski areas which are all within a two and a half hour drive of the Christchurch International Airport. Although these areas are famous for their ski slopes they also offer great summer activities including hiking, mountain biking and canoeing, and a number also offer thermal pools and spas.

While staying in one of our Christchurch hotels, experience Maori culture and heritage by attending one of the city’s Maori cultural displays where you will be greeted with traditional powhiri (greeting) and be treated to a dance and cultural performance and a meal. Or for a dose of culture while staying in one of our Christchurch hotels, visit the galleries and studios of the Arts Centre, housed in the historic buildings of the original Canterbury University College and every weekend Arts Centre Market has stalls selling arts and crafts, buskers and musicians and fresh local organic produce. Or visit the Christchurch Art Gallery featuring a permanent collection of over 5500 works, or the Canterbury Museum, also housed in a historic building, and featuring displays on Maori heritage and a recreation of Christchurch during the Victorian era.

Our Christchurch accommodation is a great base for visiting New Zealand's great alpine park, Aoraki Mt Cook National Park. The park has 19 peaks including New Zealand's highest mountain, Mt Cook, or Aoraki as it is known in Maori. The Maori believe that the mountains are ancestors and it is believed to be inappropriate to climb onto what is effectively the head of such an ancestor.

While staying in our Christchurch accommodation get up close and personal with some natives by visiting Akaroa Harbour where you can swim with the world’s smallest dolphin, the New Zealand Hector dolphin, or visit Willowbank Wildlife Reserve’s Nocturnal House to see a kiwi.

If you enjoy fine wine Canterbury has two major wine areas, the plains around the city of Christchurch and the valley of Waipara just an hour’s drive north of Christchurch, and both are easily accessible from our Christchurch accommodation or our Canterbury hotels.
